Founded in 1956, Ermewa is a European leader in railcars hire. The company offers a fleet of +47,000 railcars to freight forwarding companies, railway undertakings and industrial companies from any sector: steel, oil, gas, chemicals, palletized goods, aggregates, containers, timber, foodstuff, etc. It can provide proven-design railcars or tailor a bespoke solution to meet the requirements of any business need. The company has developed its business over the last sixty years in almost all European countries. Today, it has more than 250 employees located throughout 18 offices in Europe.

In providing the highest levels of performance and safety, Ermewa is permanently listening to its customer’s needs for the optimal technical and economic solutions whilst ensuring the safety of the products being transported. In this context, Ermewa is an ECM (Entity in Charge of Maintenance) certified company. As part of its management, the company has implemented a Quality Management System, certified according to the ISO 9001 standard. Safety is first and foremost the priority number one.

Circular Economy is at the heart of the company’s DNA since 1956: design, maintain, reuse, refurbish and recycle. It is certified EcoVadis (Gold medal) for its CSR performances.

As an active actor in the rail freight sector, the company is looking at new innovations, among others the next generation of freight railcars and materials.
